Overall Thoughts
As a family run escape room you can really feel the passion and friendliness the minute you step through the door at Northumberland escape rooms and this is reflected in the rooms.
This game is certainly a stand out game at NER with so many unique elements that make this room really special. Your team are tasked with boarding the Morpeth Express and solving the murder! Having been brought up playing games like Cluedo as a child this game had a great nostalgic element for me.
The set design was incredible having recreated a train carriage and other elements the room looked great. The puzzles in the game were equally entertaining again starting relatively easy and holding a good pace with more difficult puzzles at the end. There is such a large amount of puzzles to do in this game but again NER assist with symbols next to locks so you're not trying every lock to find the right one, taking some of the frustration out of the game. The puzzles flow seamlessly and as you progress you gain Cluedo-esque cards with different weapons, places and suspects all culminating in solving the case.
One of the most unique elements of the game was the incredible use of narration; the voiceover narrates players actions and offers clues which really adds to the murder mystery theming. And there are some hilarious voice lines used.
A culmination of great set design, unique theming and solid puzzles make this a great game for mystery lovers!
